The Art Ward is a community art project.
Each artist chooses a medium and a set of parameters. For example, an artist might decide to choose poetry as the medium with the following parameters: 1) writing sessions must be a minimum of 30 minutes, 2) a specific type of poetry (i.e. haiku, sonnet, etc) may be used no more than three times during the project, and 3) words for colors may never be used. All media are acceptable for the project, and the parameters are completely up to the artist.
Once the medium and parameters have been determined, the artist creates a new work of art every day for thirty (30) days. Our first project begins November 1, 2010, and ends on the 30th.
Within weeks of the project closing, an art show will be held to share the results.
Artistic integrity is expected, but this is a time to sever the tethers and allow the freedom of self-expression without judgment.
